Password Strength Checker

? Frequently Asked Questions

What makes a password strong?

Strong passwords have 12+ characters, mix uppercase/lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols, avoid dictionary words and patterns, and are unique per account. The checker evaluates all these factors with a strength score.

How is password strength calculated?

Strength considers length, character variety (uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols), entropy (randomness), absence of common patterns/dictionary words, and resistance to brute-force attacks. Scores range from weak to very strong.

Why are longer passwords better?

Each additional character exponentially increases cracking difficulty. A 12-character password has 62^12 possible combinations, while 16 characters has 62^16 - billions of times harder to crack through brute force.

Does the tool store my passwords?

No! This checker runs entirely in your browser (client-side). Passwords never leave your device or get sent to servers. Always verify tools use HTTPS.

Can it detect common password mistakes?

Yes! The checker identifies weak patterns like sequential characters (abc, 123), keyboard patterns (qwerty), repeated characters (aaa), common substitutions (@ for a), and dictionary words - all of which weaken passwords.

Is my data safe and secure?

Yes, absolutely! This tool runs entirely in your browser. All data processing happens locally on your device - nothing is uploaded to our servers. Your files and data never leave your computer, ensuring complete privacy and security.
